VAIL
is the largest single mountain ski resort in the United
States. What lures Americans, Europeans and, the ultra-rich,
alike is the extraordinary quality of the snow and the range
of terrain. There are 1,220 acres of vastly diverse runs
on the front side and 645 acres of intermediate-to-advanced
trails, but the back bowls are considered Vail's best feature.
Vail itself resembles a quaint European village, with clock
towers and inns and shops next to homey chalets. Because
of this atmosphere and the European patrons, Vail exudes
more international flavor than any other Colorado resort.
