| TUCSON
is sandwiched between the eastern and western portions of
Saguaro National Park and banked by four different towering
mountain ranges. Its long history and culture is a melding
of Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo roots. Inhabitants
hold fast to their heritage fighting to preserve some of
the city's old Mexican character. The city's main sights
are clustered around the University of Arizona campus
and the downtown historic area. The Barrio and
El Presidio historic districts are located here. Five
of El Presidio's buildings are located here forming a part
of the Tucson Museum of Art. |
