Located on
the St Mary's River, the link between lakes Superior and
Huron, industrial based SAULT STE MARIE, more popularly
the SOO, sits opposite the Michigan town of the same name.
The Algoma Central Railway has a number of year round
rail tours, which make is a fascinating starting point for
a splendid wilderness train ride. Visit the Sault Ste
Marie Museum, the Ermatinger Old Stone House
and the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, whose
collection of antique bushplanes is stored within a giant
hangar. The Art Gallery of Algoma, exibits the work
of various local artists.
