The Alamo, Texas' famous symbol of independence against Mexico is another favorite attraction in the downtown area. The surreal Buckhorn Museum is filled with Wild West exhibits and stuffed animals from around the world. The Institute of Texas Cultures, on the grounds of HemisFair Park displays the 27 ethnic and cultural groups prominent in Texas.
