RALEIGH, North Carolina's capital is located in what is known as the state's Research Triangle area. Four blocks of Raleigh's downtown buildings have been remodeled into the fashionable pedestrian mall known as City Market. The North Carolina Museum of History houses exhibits from the Civil War describing the stat's divided loyalties.
