QUEBEC CITY is set among one of the most beautiful settings in North America. Attractions are distributed between the upper and lower portions of what is known as Vieux-Québec (Old Québec) which is grounded in four centuries of history and French tradition. The Haute-Ville or Upper Town follows along the St Lawrence from the old city walls and contains the oldest part of the city, including the majestic Citadelle. Of the city's many museums, the modern Musée de la Civilisation houses exhibits of all aspects of French-Canadian society, and the Musée du Québec has the finest art collection in the province.
