PATTAYA is a world famous holiday resort located on the eastern coastline of Thailand's exotic Gulf of Siam and is approximately 90 miles South of the capital city of Bangkok. Uncheck resort development during the 1980's created terrible polution in the area beaches. Recent civil projects to clean up the bay have produced some success, but the beach is still not at all pleasant. In spite of this, Pattaya has a large number of sophisticated international resorts set among golf courses and lush gardens. Sadly, Pattaya's large sex tourism industry keeps the area from becoming a family destination.
