| The largest
resort on the Mediterranean coast, NICE has long
been a favorite of visitors. Of the many art museums, two
display the works of particular artists. The Musée
Matisse holds original drawings, painting, bronzes and
artifacts of the artists'. The Musée Chagall
holds the largest collection of works by Marc Chagall. The
Musée des Beaux Arts house exhibits
of works by Dufy, Monet, Renoir and Sisley. The Musée
d'Art Contemporain is housed in a particularly striking
building and is the home of a fine collection of Neo-Realism
and Pop Art. The bulbous dome of the Cathédrale
Orthodoxe Russe St-Nicolas is perhaps the most distinctive
landmark. |
