LILLE is the largest city in the far north of
France near the Belgium borger. The highlight of the city
is the Vieux Lille where the Grande-Place,
known as place du Général-de-Gaulle, which
forms the borders the southern part of the old quarter.
On the east side is the magnificent mansion of Ancienne
Bourse, a great example of 17th century architecture.
Heading north along the Rues Esquermoise and Lepelletier
will bring you to the center of old Lille, a quaint intersecting
of cobbled lanes and passageways. Other areas worth seeing
are the Rue d'Angleterre, Rue du Pont-Neuf and the Porte
de Gand, Rue de la Monnaie.
