plan, the skyline is majestic and beautiful. The discovery
of oil turned the city into a major petrochemical producer.
A long tradition of "Houston Pride" has endowed
the city with some of the world's finest museums. The Menil
Collection is one of the world's best collections of
paintings and sculpture. Located just south of the museum
is the Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum, which displays
the only Byzantine frescos on view in the Western Hemisphere.
Also not to be misses is the Space Center Houston
and the San Jacinto Battleground. |
