| The spa town
of HOT SPRINGS is located southwest of Little Rock.
Almost 200 years vistors sought the healing powers of its
thermal waters. Of course the spring waters are still one
of the main attractions. Today, as in 1921 when Hot Springs
officially became a national park, vacationers still come
for the natural springs, but the real attraction is a quiet
mountain resort with panoramic views of the forests and
lakes. The famous "Bathhouse Row" is now a National
Historic District within the Hot Springs National Park.
The visitors center is housed in the majestic Spanish Fordyce
Bathhouse. Today, only the Buckstaff Bathhouse remains
in operation offering it spa facilities. |
