| Hawaii's capital
city, HONOLULU is probably most famous for its resort
of Waikiki. Downtown's capitol district is the dominated
by the 'Iolani Palace, once lived in by King David
Kalakaua and later his sister, Queen Lili'uokalani. North
of the Capitol District is Chinatown, an unique area
with open air markets, lei stands, cafes and herbal shops.
Here you may also find the Art Deco Hawai'i Theatre
and the sates's oldest Japanese Shinto shrine, the Izumo
Taisha Shrine. Pearl Harbor is a place that most
visitors also want to visit. Although the base is off limits,
tours can be made to the USS Missouri and
USS Arizona Memorials. |
