GLASGOW is famous for its architectural riches.
It's cathedral is a wonderful 13th century church
that escaped destruction from the Scottish Reformation.
Royal Exchange Square is good example of a typical
Glasgow square; bare, no trees and surrounding the 1829
Royal Exchange, now housing the Gallery of Modern Art.
Most of the museums are located in the affluent West End.
The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, home to
splendid collections by Botticelli, Giorgione, Rembrandt,
Degas, Millet and Monet. Don't miss the Burrell Collection
in the Pollok Country Park. It has some exquisite stained
glass and tapestries and a self portrait by Rembrandt.
