| The old town
of GENEVA is the most attractive part of the city.
Its cobbled narrow streets and stone houses are nestled
among squares with fountains and shops, cafes and galleries.
In the center of the old town is the 12th century Cathédrale
St-Pierre. Geneva's famous Musée d'Art et
Histoire east of the old town houses an interesting
collection of Swiss and European art and artifacts from
prehistory to modern times. After a pleasant lunch, you
might want to head down the Rue de Rive (the main
shopping street) and then later see the Jet d'Eau,
one of the world's largest fountains. |
