| COLORADO SPRINGS
was originally established as a resort town by railroad tycoon William Jackson
Palmer. The city les beaneath the magestic Pikes Peak. The Garden of the Gods
on the west side of town attracts hikers to view it awesome red sandstone formations,
of which the Kissing Camels is probaby the most famous. In 1950, the city
was chosen as the home of the US Air Force Academy and the National Missle
Defense Headquarters and the military influence is evident in the city's continuous
and steady growth. While there, don't miss the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame and
the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. |
